This video shows an interview with Charles Jencks who is an American architectural theorist, landscape architect and designer. His books on the history and criticism of Modernism and Postmodernism were widely read in architectural circles and beyond. He first studied English Literature at Harvard University, later gained an MA in architecture from the Graduate School of Design in 1965. He also has a PhD in Architectural History from the Bartlett School of Architecture at University College, London. During the interview, Jencks shares with us his thoughts about theoretical site of architecture. He describes his view of new architecture paradigm and also explains what architecture will look like in the nearly feature.

It is really hard to indifferently pass by this building. Its ultra modern form certainly will be look fresh for a long time. Ministry of Design says about this project: Designed as a permanent show gallery and tourist information center for China’s largest developer Vanke, MOD’s dramatic design for the TRIPLE V GALLERY has become an icon along the Dong Jiang Bay coastline. Despite its obvious sculptural qualities, the building’s DNA evolved rationally from a careful analysis of key contextual & programmatic perimeters – resulting in the TRIPLE V GALLERY’S triangulated floor plan as well as the 3 soaring edges that have come to define its form.

This addition was designed and implemented by Martin Holub Architects and it called Lake Drive House Addition. It consist of a 600 square feet space which was added to an existing house located in Rhinebeck, New York. The new and very modern space includes a bathroom, a meeting room, a laundry room, a large hot tub and a lounge area connected to an outdoor patio. According to the architects, the owner hoped that the new building would be “an integral part of the house, rather than an obvious slap on. He also hoped that the addition would significantly enhance the design standard of the house.“ Architects surely achieved customer’s goal, the building represents a minimalist architecture approach. The materials used- glass, concrete, stone and western red cedar- contribute to a modern looking construction that can host a variety of activities. This stunning wellness retreat is a perfect example of the natural beauty of Bali. Look at it and I’m sure that will get your heart racing. The retreat called COMO Shambhala Estate and it is located near Ubud, Bali. The building consists of picturesque villa-style accommodation units with terrace rooms, garden rooms and various types of suites. Even though visitors are sure to be overwhelmed by the comfort and papering of their accommodation unit and the services provided here, few of them will remain inside for a long period of time, during their stay in this tropical paradise. This video shows an interview with a world-renowned bridge architect Kevin Peterson. He is a specialist in conceptual and preliminary design of urban, transportation facility and infrastructure improvements. His experience is extensive, ranging from planning new cities to small unusual transit improvements, and he has contributed to hundreds of transportation projects around the globe. During the interview, the architect gives his opinion on planned Columbia River Light Rail (CRC) project. This edited four-minute version of a six-part,70-minute interview showcases Peterson’s “straight” bridge design as compared to the sprawling (CRC) design.

This very characteristic building was designed by Spanish architect José Javier Gallardo of ///g.bang/// and it is the new youth facility in Zaragoza. The buildings is a psychiatric centre and it is connected to the existing Nuestra Señora del Carmen Neuropsychiatric Centre through an underground tunnel. This is certainly one of the most original example of this type of buildings. The red powder-coated zinc sheets cover the entire exterior, interrupted only by frameless windows.
